Lamiang Living Heritage is not merely a Clothing Collection But a Story of Heritage
Palangkaraya - The Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) of Palangka Raya City has once again demonstrated its commitment to promoting the region's cultural richness and local craft products at the national level.
In collaboration with Bank Indonesia Representative Office of Central Kalimantan Province, designer Stefan Aji, Borneo Queen Jewelry, and Titik Kumpul, Dekranasda of Palangka Raya City successfully captivated visitors at Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2026 held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, on Friday (31/7/2026).
Under the theme Lamiang Living Heritage, the collection represents the living cultural heritage of Central Kalimantan — one that continues to evolve while remaining relevant to modern fashion developments.
The collection’s distinctiveness lies in the harmonious fusion of traditional Central Kalimantan fabrics (wastra) with exclusive jewelry. Every detail was meticulously crafted, resulting in garments that are elegant and modern while retaining a strong cultural identity.
Chairperson of Dekranasda Palangka Raya City, Avina Fairid Naparin, stated that this cross-sector collaboration serves as proof that creativity can elevate local cultural values into competitive fashion works at both national and international levels.
"Every garment presented not only offers visual beauty but also carries a message about preserving cultural identity, empowering MSMEs, and strengthening the regional creative economy," she said.
According to Avina, Dekranasda Palangka Raya’s participation in Indonesia’s largest fashion event is expected to broaden the promotion of the region’s superior products while opening wider market opportunities for local artisans and MSME players.
She added that the participation further strengthens Central Kalimantan’s position as one of Indonesia’s key sources of culture-based fashion inspiration.
"Lamiang Living Heritage is not merely a clothing collection, but a story of heritage, creativity, and collaboration that keeps Central Kalimantan’s culture alive and shining on the Indonesian fashion stage," she concluded.
