Pati - Langgenharjo Village, Juwana District, Pati Regency has a community with a variety of creative business ideas, one of which is batik. Tamziz Al Anas is no exception, one of the owners of a batik brand named Yuliati Warno Batik.
He began to tell about the beginning of the idea and the history of the business that started in 2007.
Yuliati Warno was taken from the name of his wife. He and his wife claimed to have had the intention of starting a batik business since they were still in college.
"Incidentally, the wife's family comes from Bakaran Village, which has batik characteristics and is quite famous. At that time, I happened to be appointed by the Disperindag to promote Batik Bakaran to the general public, so from there this trademark and business was initiated," he said, Monday (19/9/2022).
It is known, Batik Yuliati Warno developed her business by holding workshops as an effort to educate the public about batik. It also builds cooperation with educational institutions, ministry institutions, certification bodies to organize training in batik making.
"We will continue to work with Islamic boarding schools for work motivation from early childhood, kindergarten, elementary to high school children to make batik-making practices," he said.
According to him, Batik Bakaran has been passed down from generation to generation and has its own characteristics.
Furthermore, he explained that the local community itself was very enthusiastic, before it was famous it was only sold outside but over time the batik has become famous outside of Pati Regency.
"Seeing that we are still young and not only Bakaran people can be successful with Batik Bakaran, even though we are branding with Batik Pati, it becomes motivation," he said.
"To continue the batik generation to the youth, we must be able to boost the market first, meaning how much continuity is needed that has entered the market and that is what makes people attractive," he added.
He said that currently the existence of batik depends on the way of marketing.
