Batik Day Parade in Temanggung Shows 60 Models

Temanggung – A batik parade that was held by dozens of models on the pedestrian path to the east of Temanggung Square colored Batik Day at the Temanggung Regency level, Central Java. Chairman of the Committee for the Early Batik Parade Rahayu, in Temanggung, Sunday (2/10/2022), said this batik parade was the culmination of a series of National Batik Days in Temanggung Regency.

"This activity aims to show the wider community that Temanggung has batik, so this activity is held on the side of the road," he said. He said that Temanggung batiks can be worn by people of all ages, professions and can also be worn in various events.

Dini said there are 60 models that display batik works from craftsmen in Temanggung Regency combined with various accessories. "Dozens of models are from various professions, from Genre or Generation Planning, Children's Forum, and Darma Wanita Persatuan as well as figures in Temanggung Regency who have broad influence to spread batik in Temanggung," he said.

He hopes that in the future batik will be more accepted by all circles, more and more Temanggung people will wear batik made by Temanggung craftsmen.

"We also hope that there will be synergy between the government, the private sector and the community and the craftsmen to advance Temanggung batik together," he said.

The Head of the Cooperative, SME, and Trade Office of Temanggung Regency, Entargo Yutri Wardono, said that in the midst of the current economic recovery, the role of artisans and the batik community to be able to rise to color the economy in Temanggung Regency through activities like this. According to him, the most important thing in conditions like this is that MSMEs must be raised and this is the responsibility of all parties. He said the challenges that need to be considered for MSMEs are quality, quantity, and continuity.

Everyone can produce, but must be able to maintain these three things so that their business runs smoothly.

"Through this Batik Parade, we hope that we can really revive the economy of Temanggung Regency, especially batik," he said.
