Modern Syar'i Clothing from Batik Ciamis Shinning at ISEF 2022
Ciamis - More and more Indonesian designers are processing batik cloth into modern fashion works. In addition to preserving the nation's culture, it also modernizes batik among young people.
That's what Designer Neni Nur Effendi is trying to do with her Tiasafara brand. Making batik as the main highlight of her latest collection, KATRESNA, Neni tries to invite young Muslim women to look bold but still shari'a.
Batik Ciamis was chosen by Neni for the collection exhibited at the ISEF 2022 Fashion Show, at the Jakarta Convention Center, a few days ago. There is an interesting story behind the selection of the Batik Ciamis material.
"The love and pride for the batik literature of Ciamis Regency which was victorious in its time made me want to give a special spotlight to the batik cloth, especially now that Batik Ciamis is back in existence," explained Neni in her official statement, Tuesday (11/10/2022).
In particular, Neni chose the Batik Ciamis Rereng motif for the KATRESNA collection at ISEF 2022. She tried to combine the motif with flowers and Slampat.
The combination creates the look of modern and glamorous shari'a clothing. Moreover, Neni also plays nicely with satin material and a touch of sequin accent in the deluxe ready-to-wear collection.
"With a more modern touch, Batik Ciamis can be something different. This also makes the wearer look more energetic and dynamic," said Neni.
By processing Batik Ciamis as a modern shari'a fashion dress, Neni hopes that this Nusantara wastra can be better known to the public, both in Indonesia and the world. "That way, Batik Ciamis fashion SMEs can be victorious again," he added.
