Batam Batik Fashion Week 2022 Roadshow
In November 2022, Batam Batik Fashion Week (BBFW) 2022 will tour three locations. Batam is organizing this road show to encourage other areas to display Small and Medium Industry (IKM) products.
Marlin Agustina, Chairman of the Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) of Batam City and Deputy Governor of Riau Islands, said that BBFW will stage road shows in Lingga, Karimun, and Tanjungpinang this year.
On November 1, 2022, the first Road Show was conducted in Lingga Regency, with the focus on the Implacement Area, Dabo Singkep.
"In this Road Show, Batam City Dekranasda not only promotes Batam IKM products, but also partners with Lingga Regency Dekranasda to promote IKM items from both areas," he stated on Sunday (10/30/2022).
Several items that may be raised between Batam and Lingga include batik, water hyacinth, knitwear, and food and culinary IKM products.
"With this relationship, I hope that IKM goods in the Riau Islands will increase and go from national to worldwide," Marlin remarked.
Separately, Gustian Riau, the Head of the Batam City Industry and Trade Agency, stated that the 2022 BBFW in Lingga would be energized by a market for IKM and food/culinary items, which will begin at midday.
"This BBFW will also include coaching sessions for knitted crafts for the neighboring community," he explained.
Furthermore, the highlight event will be conducted in the evening, with the presence of the Batik Batam and Batik Lingga Fashion Show, the appearance of the traditional Lingga Dangkung Joget, and the famed Malaysian musician Poey Stings.
"This Road Show is a series of BBFW 2022 activities that will culminate in Batam with the BBFW 2022 Peak Night," Gustian explained.
