Batik Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Compact at the Muktamar

Joko Widodo (Jokowi) launched the 48th congress (Muktamar) of the Muslim group Muhammadiyah and its women's branch, Aisyiyah, in Surakarta, Central Java, on Saturday.

In his speech, the President thanked Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah, which each have 120 hospitals and 235 health clinics, for their assistance in combating the C0V1D-I9 pandemic in Indonesia.

The President highlighted that the government would continue to carry out national reform measures, including the empowerment of micro, small, and medium firms, in order to preserve good economic growth (MSMEs). Fortunately, Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah's uniforms are made of batik, allowing them to contribute to the revitalization of Batik SMEs in Indonesia.

On November 18-20, 2022, the 48th Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah congress was held in Surakarta, Central Java. The congress will address the accountability of Muhammadiyah leaders from 2012 to 2022, Muhammadiyah programs from 2022 to 2027, and strategic concerns regarding Islam.
