Saba Baduy Cultural Tour with Weaving and Batik
To promote the uniqueness of Lebak Regency and introduce Saba Budaya Baduy cultural tourism, the Lebak Regency Government through the Department of Culture and Tourism is holding the Seba Baduy 2024 event with the theme "The Legacy of Baduy".
Karisma Event Nusantara is a collection of quality events from 38 provinces in Indonesia which will be a collaborative strategy between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Regional Government through the implementation of quality activities.
KEN 2024 is the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy's effort to revive regional events by promoting tourist destinations, increasing tourist visits, and empowering local potential.
Lebak Regency should be proud because this year there are 3 Lebak Regency Events, namely Seba Baduy, the Multatuli Arts Festival and Seren Taun Cisungsang and being the only region in Banten Province included in this superior program of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, these three events are here to promote tourism, especially the culture and arts of Lebak Regency in order to increase tourist visits.
Since October 2023, the Lebak Regency Culture and Tourism Office has submitted this event to be assessed or curated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, then the Lebak Regency Government through the Lebak Culture and Tourism Office will continue to carefully prepare the three selected events by collaborating with the organizers of the Seren Taun Cisungsang Event.
Seba Baduy is one of the traditional ceremonies of the Baduy people which is packaged into a national-scale event among several other Baduy traditional ceremonies, which is carried out for annual ritual activities, which are intended to hand over agricultural products and establish friendship with the Lebak Regency Government and Banten Province, a form of gratitude for having received an abundance of agricultural products for a year.
Seba Baduy is held after the Kawalu and Seren Taun (Ngalaksa) activities. The Seba group walks from Kanekes to the Seba destination (Regency and Provincial Capital) while carrying agricultural products to be handed over.
This event will also be supported by several supporting events, namely Fashion Designer Competition, Camping Ground in Baduy, Cultural Talkshow, Music Performance, Creative Economy Exhibition and many other supporting activities.
This event will be held for 4 (four) days starting from 16-19 May 2024 located at the Lebak Regent's Pendopo and Rangkasbitung Square, Banten Province.
More interestingly, there is a new program, namely the National Designer Competition with a show of creativity with a Baduy nuance where the main materials used are Baduy Weaving and Baduy Batik.
No less exciting, visitors will also be invited to enjoy the nature of the Baduy tribe in supporting activities, namely Camping Ground by camping and trekking with the outer Baduy community.
Several promotional steps have also been carried out by the Lebak Culture and Tourism Office, such as Online Media, Offline Media, and collaborating with celebrities and official accounts from several related central governments to attract tourists or visitors to this national event.
This event targets around 40,000-50,000 visitors, but there are still crowd restrictions in coordination with other agencies.
