 Formal education to learn batik has actually been in jepara for long time, the name is SMIK Negeri Jepara. The Batik Departement has been around since the 1980s. However, at the end of the last ten years the graduates have begun to dare, want to, and making batik, and are apparently able to establish productive batik. 

But there are still very few who are able to survive until today to became producers and entrepreneurs of batik Jepara.
