Tangerang Signature Batik Festival at Kemuning Cultural Village
Tangerang Regent Moch Maesyal Rasyid attended the Tangerang Signature Batik Festival at Kemuning Cultural Village, Kemuning Village, Legok District, Tangerang Regency, on Wednesday (16/7/25).
In his speech, Regent Maesyal stated that the Cultural Village in Kemuning Village has great potential through its batik businesses, which have been independently run by the local community. He expressed his commitment to continuously encourage and fully support the development of Tangerang’s signature batik industry in the Legok District area.
“I want batik production here to be scaled up. I will return with the Cooperative Office to help provide facilities, infrastructure, production equipment, and marketing support. This is part of our commitment to driving the village community’s economy,” said Regent Maesyal.
He emphasized the importance of market certainty for the signature batik products of Tangerang Regency from Kemuning Cultural Village, so that the artisans’ businesses can be sustainable and provide steady income. He also plans to promote the continued development and increased use of local batik, including encouraging civil servants (ASN) and students in Tangerang Regency to wear Tangerang signature batik.
“I will discuss this so that at least one day a week, government civil servants or school students can wear Tangerang signature batik produced in Kemuning Village,” he said.
Meanwhile, Special Staff to the Minister of MSMEs of the Republic of Indonesia, Hasby Zamry, who also attended the event, expressed his support for efforts to preserve local culture that can deliver significant economic impact to the community.
“Batik is not only a cultural treasure, but also has added economic value. We from the Ministry of MSMEs are ready to support the marketing of Tangerang batik through digital platforms such as Tokopedia, Shopee, Lazada, and others,” he said.
Hasby emphasized that his team will report the results of this visit directly to the Minister and Deputy Minister as an initial step toward further synergy with the Ministry in improving the branding and marketing of Tangerang’s signature batik.
“We want the artisans here to level up — not just relying on social assistance, but truly building sustainable businesses,” he concluded.
Tangerang Regency Secretary Urges ASN to Wear Batik Shoes
Tangerang Regency Secretary (Sekda), Soma Atmaja, has called on all State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in Tangerang Regency to wear batik-patterned shoes.
The appeal was made by Soma Atmaja while reviewing a bazaar of Tangerang Regency batik-motif shoes produced by local MSMEs and Small and Medium Industries (IKM). The event was held at the front veranda of Raden Aria Yudhanegara Ceremony Field on Monday (03/02/25).
“I urge all ASN in Tangerang Regency to wear Tangerang Regency batik shoes as a form of support for our MSME and IKM entrepreneurs,” said Soma.
He emphasized that wearing Tangerang Regency batik-motif shoes is not only a way to support superior products from MSMEs and IKMs, but also to demonstrate pride in the regional identity, in line with the Tangerang Acting Regent’s Circular Letter Number: B/100.3.4/1069/1/Disperindang regarding the Appeal for Wearing Batik Shoes as a Regional Identity.
“In addition to supporting and boosting local products, especially shoes, wearing batik shoes and *peci awi* also shows our pride in the regional identity that we love,” he stressed.
According to him, Tangerang Regency’s signature batik-motif shoes come in various designs, featuring motifs such as bamboo, Wareng chicken, peanuts, and Parakan rambutan fruit. These various motifs must be preserved and developed, one of which is through creative economy products made by local businesses.
“We are proud and must preserve the original batik motifs of Tangerang Regency, which have been widely used in creative economy products by business actors, such as bamboo *peci*, shoes, and shirts,” explained Soma.
During the review of the batik-motif shoe bazaar featuring products from Ronsoleti and Chosamon, the Regional Secretary was accompanied by the Head of the Industry and Trade Office, Resmiati, Head of the Industry Division, Arif, and several shoe entrepreneurs from Tangerang Regency.
