The Regent of West Lampung for Iconic Batik at the Cantika Story event
Tulang Bawang Lampung – Regent of Tulang Bawang, Mrs. Dr Hj Winarti SE MH, was one of the speakers in the Cantika Story with the theme “Iconic Batik” which was held live via the Instagram link @ Cantikadotcom Tuesday (20/9/22). On this occasion, the Regent of Tulang Bawang, Dr. Hj Winarti SE MH, together with the mayor of Mojokerto, Ika Puspitasari, became resource persons who would explore the typical batik of their respective regions.
The Regent of Winarti, the title of Suri Prince, on this occasion, showed some of the batik products with the Silver Star motif, Shiha Ali motif and Maduro motif, which are currently patented by the Batik Craftsman Shiha Ali, the first bidder for the Tulang Bawang Regency. Regent Winarti also told the history of the formation of this UMKM so that in the end it was able to grab the attention of batik enthusiasts in the archipelago through the creations of the Shiha ali Tulang Bawang Batik Craftsmen.
Through the 25 BMW Tulang Bawang Program, the Regent of Winarti, nicknamed the hero of Tulang Bawang, continues to encourage the steps of UMKM activists in Tulang Bawang Regency so that UMKM in the Sai Bumi Nengah Nyappur area, including Shiha Ali's batik, are able to take an extraordinary role and have a special place in their hearts. Batik enthusiasts all over Indonesia and even the world
"Shiha Ali's batik, the pride of Tulang Bawang Regency, is a hand-drawn batik made by an UMKM in Tulang Bawang district, where the majority of the craftsmen consist of our brothers and sisters with disabilities and orphans," said Regent Winarti.
“The persistence of the Shiha Ali batik craftsmen was finally able to attract the attention of batik enthusiasts from the archipelago and the world. This can happen because of the synergy efforts of Shiha Ali's Batik UMKM with the Tulang Bawang Regency Government through the 25 BMW Tulang Bawang Program. I never play games and seriously I fully support the efforts to develop this written batik.” Add Regent Winarti
Regent Winarti continued, “This hand-drawn batik has a market share not only for women, but for men and children who are very elegant when using this batik. Hopefully the written batik that has been named the identity of the Indonesian nation will be able to increase the production and sales capacity of Naseha Ali Batik or Shiha Ali batik so that it will be able to improve the welfare of its craftsmen and advance and boost the quality of the overall welfare of the Tulang Bawang district.”
