UAD PPM Team Held Batik Ecoprint Training in Wareng Village

Lecturers from Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) who are members of the Community Service Program (PPM) team held a Batik Ecoprint Training in Wareng Village, Wonosari, on Sunday, October 16, 2022. This activity targets housewives who are members of the Srikandi Women Farmers Group (KWT). , Singkar 1, Wareng.


The team was chaired by Phisca Aditya Rosyady, S.Si., M.Sc. and consists of Safinta Nurindra Rahmadhia, S.Si., M.Sc. and Dr. Novi Febrianti, S.Si., M.Sc. The series of service activities have been carried out for the last three years and are focused on realizing Wareng Village as a Herbal Tourism Education.

One of the potentials possessed by the Wareng Village is the empon-empon plants which are planted by the residents themselves and processed for the production of herbal herbs. This training is an effort to optimize this potential through ecoprint batik. Present as a resource person is Wahyuni, a batik practitioner, who provides theory and direct practical assistance.

“Ecoprint is a process of giving motifs to fabrics by printing plant elements. In addition to leaves, it can also be from flowers or bark. In this activity, we utilize elements from the residents' garden plants,” explained Phisca.

Etik Ismiyati as the head of KWT Srikandi admitted that she really appreciated this training activity. Both parties hope that through the provision of ecoprint batik skills, they can open up opportunities to increase the economic level of local residents.
