Bupati Tangerang Commits to Transforming Textiles and the Creative Economy by Opening Dekra Fest 2026

Tangerang Regent, Moch. Maesyal Rasyid, officially opened the Tangerang Regency Dekranasda Anniversary Exhibition through Dekra Fest 2026, held in conjunction with the Kartini Day Celebration, on Tuesday (April 28, 2026). The event, taking place at Mall Ciputra Citra Raya in Panongan, served as a crucial momentum for reviving the creative industry and preserving local traditional textiles (Wastra) in Tangerang Regency.

The six-day event was attended by regional leaders, including Chairperson of Dekranasda Banten Province Tinawati Andra Soni, Chairperson of Dekranasda Tangerang Regency Hj. Rismawati Maesyal Rasyid, and Chairperson of Dekranasda Tangerang City Hj. Masturoh Sachrudin. The presence of these female economic drivers underscored a strong synergy between regions in advancing local crafts.

On this occasion, Regent Maesyal Rasyid emphasized that Dekra Fest 2026 is not merely an annual ceremony, but a concrete strategy by the local government to strengthen the MSME ecosystem by leveraging Tangerang’s distinctive crafts.

"Today, at Mall Ciputra, the exhibition organized by Dekranasda Tangerang Regency is being held. The Governor, who also serves as Chairperson of Dekranasda Banten Province, and the Mayor of Tangerang are also present as we celebrate Kartini Day in Tangerang Regency with this exhibition," said the Regent.

The Regent added that the main focus of the event is to provide a platform for superior local products so they can compete and gain wider recognition among the public.

"We hope that this six-day event will contribute to the business activities of the people of Tangerang Regency by utilizing local potential for crafts, including clothing, shoes, and other crafts such as bamboo hats. This is also our focus in developing business activities within the community," he asserted.

The highlight of the opening was the Launching of the Tangerang Regency Dekranasda Batik. This launch marks a significant step in establishing the region’s visual identity through batik motifs that reflect the unique characteristics of each sub-district in Tangerang Regency.

The ceremony was followed by a captivating Wastra Fashion Show, in which participants showcased clothing creations made from batik typical of the various sub-districts across Tangerang Regency. This demonstrated the regional leadership’s commitment to reviving public interest in using local products in daily life.

Dekra Fest 2026 was enlivened by various competitions and educational activities involving all levels of society, from students to professional business actors.

"Over these six days, various competitions will also be held, all based on the potentials that exist in Tangerang Regency. There are competitions for school children in dance, batik design competitions, and fashion show competitions. All these activities are carried out by Tangerang Regency, and both the potential and the participants come from Tangerang Regency," explained Regent Maesyal.

The Regent expressed hope that the exhibition would serve as a catalyst for economic growth and strengthen Tangerang Regency’s position as one of the leading craft centers in Banten Province. With full support from the Provincial Dekranasda, a more massive marketing synergy is expected.

The opening ceremony concluded with the Regent and Dekranasda leaders touring the MSME stands. The event will continue with a series of competitions, culminating in the announcement of winners and the awarding of prizes at the end of the program.
