Bojonegoro – The Bojonegoro Regency Government (Pemkab Bojonegoro), through the Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar), will hold the Bojonegoro Wastra Batik Festival at the Bojonegoro Regency Square in East Java Province from 17 to 20 June 2026.
The festival, themed “Wastrane Bojonegoro Membumi lan Ngamboro ing Bawono”, aims to preserve local culture while strengthening the region’s creative economy sector.
Various activities have been prepared to enliven the event, including a batik and accessories exhibition, talk shows, fashion shows, drawing competitions, coloring competitions, storytelling competitions, and musical performances. Several musicians and singers, such as Dudy Oris, Jihan Audy, and Tasya Rosmala, are scheduled to perform.
The festival will involve batik artisans and creative economy players as part of efforts to expand the promotion of the region’s flagship products.
Head of Bojonegoro’s Disbudpar, Elzadeba Agustina, stated that batik is not only aesthetically valuable but also serves as a cultural identity that embodies history, philosophy, and local wisdom.
“Batik is not merely a work of art, but a cultural identity that contains historical value, philosophy, and local wisdom that we must preserve together. Through the Bojonegoro Wastra Batik Festival 2026, the Bojonegoro Regency Government is committed to continuously promoting the preservation, development, and promotion of batik as a cultural heritage and a driver of the region’s creative economy,” she said when contacted on Friday (5/6/2026).
According to Elzadeba, the festival is expected to serve as a space for collaboration among various stakeholders to showcase the richness of Bojonegoro’s distinctive batik motifs and the innovations of creative entrepreneurs.
“This festival is expected to become a collaborative platform to display the richness of batik motifs, the creativity of business actors, and to strengthen Bojonegoro’s position as a region rich in culture and innovation,” she added.
In addition to being a promotional event, the festival is also expected to create opportunities for learning and business networking for participants. In this way, Bojonegoro’s batik industry and creative economy sector can continue to grow and become more competitive at both the regional and national levels.
Disbudpar also appreciates the support of all parties involved in organizing the event.
“We hope the Bojonegoro Wastra Batik Festival 2026 runs smoothly, succeeds, and delivers positive impacts on cultural advancement and the welfare of the community,” Elzadeba concluded.
