Sukoharjo - Hundreds of residents of Bangkean Village, Kenep Village, Sukoharjo, were shocked when 2024 Presidential Candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo, arrived at the location of the home-based batik industry in Sukoharjo on Tuesday, December 26 2023.


Hundreds of traditional batik makers and residents welcomed Ganjar enthusiastically. They were excited to take photos and shake hands with the former governor of Central Java for two terms.

The residents shouted, "Sir, thank you for coming to Sukoharjo. We Sukoharjo residents miss Ganjar."

Ganjar is friendly to its citizens. Apart from that, he welcomes mothers who make batik traditionally. The middle-aged mothers continued to laugh at Ganjar's jokes and jokes.

"You're very funny, sir, come here and join us in making batik," asked one of the batik makers to Ganjar. By adding color to the existing batik motif, Ganjar then joined in making batik. Apart from that, Ganjar visited a batik shop and said, "Wow, this is Wahyu Temurun's motif. I bought this, this motif is really nice."


Agus Samiyono, owner of Batik Kedung Gudel, was very surprised by Ganjar's purchase. Ganjar didn't think he was aware of this very rare batik motif. Apart from that, the Wahyu Temurun motif has a very deep meaning for those who wear it.

According to Agus, this motif can be interpreted as an indication related to rank or position.

It is very surprising that Pak Ganjar bought batik with the Wahyu Temurun motif. Javanese people really remain Javanese. Pak Ganjar was right to buy Wahyu because it was something he wanted to carry.


For now, Ganjar stated that he really likes batik. He always buys batik products from wherever the region produces them.

"In Solo Raya, batik is the most popular, but in Sukoharjo it is also good." According to him, the tradition is still there, the production is good, and the price is affordable.

Not only looking at or buying things, Ganjar also used this moment to absorb his aspirations. He heard a lot of input from MSME players about things like training, equipment and access to capital.
