Smart Batik Wins 1st Place in Business World Category in 2024 Gender Champion Award

 JAKARTA, Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives (SMEs) partner of the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS), CV. Smart Batik Indonesia (Smart Batik), won 1st Place in the Business World Category in the 2024 Gender Champion Award event held by the Yogyakarta City Government through the Women's Empowerment, Child Protection and Population and Family Planning Control Service (DP3AP2KB). 


The Gender Champion Award is an appreciation for individuals, communities, business actors, State Civil Apparatus (ASN), and regional apparatus who care about women, children, the disabled, the elderly, and the poor to encourage the creation of gender equality and justice in the City of Yogyakarta.

The award was presented by the Acting Mayor of Yogyakarta, Sugeng Purwanto, Acting Chairperson of the Yogyakarta City PKK TP, Sugiharti Mulya Handayani, and Head of DP3AP2KB, Retnaningtyas on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at the Bima Room, Yogyakarta City Hall Complex. After going through a series of processes, starting from administrative selection to interviews, 21 winners were selected from 7 categories, one of which was CV. Smart Batik Indonesia won first place in the business world category. Since developing the palm oil batik industry in September 2023, the number of batik makers involved in batik production has increased. Until now, there are a total of around 60 batik makers dominated by women, some of whom are disabled.

Smart Batik CEO, Miftahudin Nur Ihsan, expressed his gratitude to the various parties who continue to support his efforts.

"Thank you to all parties who continue to support us. Alhamdulillah, we dedicate this award to the batik makers. Hopefully we can continue to contribute to society through Smart Batik," said the alumni who received the Bidikmisi and LPDP scholarships.

Meanwhile, the Head of the BPDPKS UKMK Division, Helmi Muhansyah, continues to provide motivation for Smart Batik.

"Hopefully this award will be an encouragement to continue to grow. Palm Oil UKMKs must continue to advance so that they can provide the widest possible impact, so that they can also participate in campaigning for the goodness of Indonesian palm oil. Congratulations to the Batik Sawit team, Smart Batik," said Helmi.
