Smart Batik Introduces Batik Sawit at Innovation Festival Suzhou 2024 China
Suzhou, Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives (SMEs) partner of the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS), CV Smart Batik Indonesia from Yogyakarta, received an invitation to the Innovation Festival (InnovFest) Suzhou 2024 on November 18-20, 2024.
InnovFest Suzhou is an international innovation and entrepreneurship festival in China organized by the National University of Singapore Research Institute (NUSRI) Suzhou which is also supported by NUS Enterprise. This program is a connecting medium between Chinese technology companies and innovations abroad. Since 2015, InnovFest has attracted more than 4,600 participants from 2,400 organizations, exhibiting more than 430 new innovative technology projects from more than ten countries. In 2024, the theme is AI & Digitalization and Sustainability.
At this event, the Smart Batik team was represented by Miftahudin Nur Ihsan (Ihsan), as CEO and Dinar Indah Lufita Sari (Dinar) as COO. Ihsan expressed his gratitude for giving Smart Batik the opportunity. It is known that Smart Batik received an invitation on the recommendation of the Republic of Indonesia Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP RI) because in the past year it has developed an environmentally friendly batik industry by utilizing palm oil wax and using natural dyes. This is in accordance with one of the themes carried at InnovFest Suzhou 2024.
"We would like to thank NUSRI Suzhou and also LPDP RI for giving us the opportunity. This year we have partnered with BPDP Palm Oil, Bank Indonesia DIY, DIY Regional Government, Yogyakarta City Government, Rumah BUMN, and other partners to try to color the domestic batik industry, by developing palm oil wax batik and natural dyes. Hopefully this activity will be an opening for us to introduce Indonesian Batik to the world," said the LPDP MBA UGM Scholarship Recipient Alumni.
Meanwhile, Dinar added that on this occasion Smart Batik tried to provide education about batik and the 3P concept that is being implemented.
"During the activities in China, we provided education about Indonesian Batik and told about the business concept that we carry, namely considering people, profit, and planet (3P)," said the UGM Chemistry Doctoral student.
Furthermore, the Head of the BPDPKS UKMK Division, Helmi Muhansyah, gave his appreciation to the Smart Batik team. "We are happy because one of our partner UKMKs has the opportunity to go international. Hopefully this can be an inspiration for other UKMKs to continue to introduce palm oil-based products, so that they can also help campaign for the goodness of palm oil," said Helmi.
