Introducing Batik from an Early Age, Yuliati Holds Painting Competition

 PATI – In order to commemorate Batik Day, Yuliati Warno Batik Education Tourism held a coloring and painting competition for batik motifs. This aims to introduce children to batik from an early age.


Although still young, the participants seemed very enthusiastic about participating in the competition.

Especially when coloring batik. The coloring process is carried out by applying dye to the cloth that has been given a motif like batik cloth.

The Manager of Yuliati Warno Batik Education Tourism, Tamzis Al Anas said that there were dozens of participants who participated in the activity. Namely, from kindergarten to elementary school (SD). They came from representatives of 21 sub-districts throughout Pati Regency.

According to him, the activity was deliberately held as an effort to introduce batik to the younger generation and children.

They are expected to be able to love and preserve it in the future.

"Moreover, currently batik has become an intangible heritage recognized by Unesco," he said.

Moreover, Pati Regency, especially Juwana District, has now become the center for producing the best batik. Efforts to develop batik are also ongoing.

"Including by creating motifs, it is hoped that in the future batik can be more diverse while still highlighting the unique culture of Pati Regency," he added.

Meanwhile, Kasyasih, one of the participants, admitted that she was happy to be able to take part in the competition.

She said that this was the first time she had been able to try coloring existing batik motifs.
