TCF Road Show Demak: A Promotion Event for Local Arts, Economy, and Batik

The Demak Regency Government (Pemkab) through the Tourism Office held the Tembiring Creative Fun (TCF) Road Show to commemorate National Batik Day, held at the Tourist Information Center (TIC) Alun-alun Demak, Friday (18/10).

Although this celebration was held a little late, the spirit of commemorating Batik Day was still felt. This event was enlivened by various special performances such as RDS Entertainment, Sanggar Tari Lestari Budaya, the Demakan Batik Parade, and the Demak Barongan performance.

In addition, there were various public services provided, including mobile library services, population services, SP4N Lapor services, regional taxes (Monalisa), BPJS services, and blood donor services.

The Head of the Demak Tourism Office, Endah Cahya Rini, explained that the TCF event aimed to commemorate National Batik Day and also as a means of socializing the Tobacco Excise Revenue Sharing Fund (DBHCHT). In addition, this event is an opportunity for tourism business actors to introduce their work to the wider community.

"We want to provide a stage for fellow business actors, especially the barongan performing arts. There is a group of high school students who have just formed a barongan group and have the enthusiasm to develop this art. We hope that by giving them a stage, they can develop their abilities while promoting barongan art," said Endah.

Endah also emphasized the importance of the multiplier effect in every event organized by the Tourism Office. According to her, TCF is not only a place for socialization, but can also provide an economic impact for the community, from traders, motorcycle taxi drivers, to artists involved in this event.

The Tourism Office also invited craftsmen under their guidance, and involved various training such as MUA, catering, and fashion in this event.

"We are trying to invite all parties so that this event can provide benefits and branding for them," she continued.

Regarding the public response, Endah admitted that the interest of the Demak community to attend is still relatively lacking. However, she is optimistic that in the future, with similar events being held more often and included in the event calendar, the community will be more enthusiastic.

In the future, the Tourism Office will continue to evaluate this event and try to involve tourist villages so that it can develop further.

"The enthusiasm of our friends in the tourist villages is there, but there are not many visitors. We hope that with this program, tourist villages can develop and attract more tourists," he concluded.
